The award was presented during the

3rd Central European Solar Physics Meeting

in October 10th and 12th, 2005,
Bairisch Kölldorf (Austria)


The second time the JOSO prize for solar physics was sponsored by Hans Roth, Austrian Saubermacher Company. This prize was presented by the JOSO-president, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Arnold Hanslmeier, together with the sponsor Mr. Hans Roth, to
 

Dr. Elena Khomenko


who now works at the Instituto de Astrofisicas de Canarias. She was awarded for her paper
"Numerical Modeling of Magnetohydrodynamic Wave Propagation and Refraction in Sunspots"
that appeared in the Astrophysical Journal.

The handing-over of the prize for an outstanding paper of a young scientist was carried out during a reception at the Tourismusschule Bad Gleichenberg.

Dr. Elena Khomenko was selected by an international refereeing committee consisting of 6 persons from different fields in solar physics. The prize was sponsored by the Austrian Saubermacher Company, Mr. Hans Roth.

and thank the referees for their tremendous work.
